Join YEP

The Youth Empowerment Project is building community and empowering youth to lead healthy lives. We see youth and adults as equal partners. We provide skill building workshops and plan community projects. We meet the 3rd Tuesday of every month from 3:30-5 pm at ESD 112 Conference Center. Contact Christopher.belisle@esd112.org. Attend Quarterly Coalition Events or a Community Training

Prevent hosts four events each year that mobilize the community towards prevention and resiliency. We also routinely provide capacity building and professional development training. Each event is unique, provides education and offers tools for support. Previous events include a mental health film screening, a panel on vaping, a resiliency resource fair and more. View our events calendar at www.preventcoalition.org/events.

Support the Rural Cross-Sector Advisory Panel

This team of rural partners across Washington State implements the Rural Communities grant from Department of Health. Members from uniquely rural perspectives share insights, needs, strategies and develop tools for prevention professionals in Washington. The team of diverse community sectors uncovers needs, offers support, and amplifies the voices of an important population. Contact Christopher.belisle@esd112.org.

Join the Steering Committee

The Steering Committee guides prevention work in Clark County. Members plan and promote the quarterly coalition events, conduct outreach, represent Prevent in the community and conduct program evaluation at an annual planning retreat. We’re seeking individuals from all sector. The Steering Committee meets quarterly from 3:30-5 pm at ESD 112. Contact Christopher.belisle@esd112.org

Promote Secure Your Cannabis

Prevent Coalition and West Van for Youth are promoting the Secure Your Cannabis campaign. The campaign promotes safe storage of cannabis products and encourages open health conversations about cannabis with youth. We’re seeking volunteers who can have nonjudgmental conversations with cannabis retail staff to get more cannabis stores distributing campaign materials in Clark County. Contact Christopher.belisle@esd112.org to join our cause.

Support the Southwest Regional Network

The Southwest Regional Network is a cross-sector collaboration of interested individuals and organizations developing a unified prevention approach across Clark, Klickitat and Skamania counties. This group creates the regional plan and offers guidance for all grant’s under the Prevent umbrella, including offering advice for funding allocations.
